GoodYarn Refresher Training
Introduction
While all facilitators are encouraged to deliver their first GoodYarn workshop within three months of their two-day training, we are mindful that it is not always possible to do your first workshop within this timeframe. To help with this, we have created two online refreshers: the facilitator refresher and online upskilling.
We have also partnered with Dr Annette Beautrais to offer a special 4-hour workshop for our GoodYarn facilitators: Responding to Psychological Distress and Suicide Risk. This workshop will build on the foundations of the GoodYarn mental health literacy workshop, expanding participants’ knowledge and skills on how to recognise distress, how to intervene early, and how to link at-risk people to help. This workshop will also include information on how a workplace can respond if a suicide impacts the workplace.
Facilitator refresher – 2 hours.
This session has been designed to refresh and reinvigorate your GoodYarn learnings and confidence prior to a workshop. Topics covered are:
- Review of the key learnings and concepts of the GoodYarn programme.
- Summary of any changes made to GoodYarn materials and the rationale for.
- Review of performance reports to date, sharing of insights of what makes for a successful workshop and ideas for overcoming any barriers.
- Run through of the GoodYarn platform and the online challenge.
- Q&As.
There is a minimum of 9 people and a maximum of 12 people for this refresher event and the fee - including updated training manual and workbook - is $275+GST per person. Registrations are essential. Please click on one of the links below to register your interest.
